MEISNER LOG 003
Adventures on the frontier
Trusting noises. Trusting I won’t fall (falling ain’t that bad). Feeling the ground beneath my feet, but everything else feels like a void. When I am guided to a surface there is a deep sensation of relief. I unclench my ass. When I am not tethered I am scared, but also invincible.
I was expecting a quaint, peaceful journey, but half the train car started drinking at 6am, and they did not stop until we got into town.
What did I miss? No planning. No control. Patience. No guessing. No repeating. Take it off the other person. What are they doing to me? Take each other in.
In comes Mrs. Kay with her daughter and soon-to-be-son-in-law. She is from Mobile. She reminds me of an uptight knock-off of my great aunt.
Holding onto your POV. Keep it present tense. Modifications come from the body, not the mind. Tuning into the moment of change: is this my truth?
My only regret was not getting a portrait of the austere Mexican grandmother bathed in golden morning light as we passed our first glacier.
“There is nothing reasonable about acting.”
Okay… so no planning, no control. Got it. GOT IT.
“Patience, huh?”
